What Is EMSELLA?
EMSELLA is a non-invasive, in-office procedure to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles to reduce or eliminate urinary incontinence. These muscles can gradually lose their strength over time from:

The EMSELLA device emits high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy. Prospective candidates who are pregnant will need to wait on EMSELLA. Also, since this procedure involves electromagnetic energy, it is not a good fit for patients with a copper IUD, metallic hip implant(s), or a pacemaker.
What to Expect During an EMSELLA Session
On the day of your session, feel free to wear your everyday clothing and even bring a book to read. The EMSELLA device resembles a large plastic chair. Once you are seated comfortably, the machine will emit HIFEM energy for about 30 minutes. You will notice pelvic floor muscle contractions and a slight tingling sensation, but you shouldn’t feel any discomfort.
What to Expect After an EMSELLA Session
Once the session is over, you’ll be able to carry on with the rest of your day with no downtime. You may experience a mild degree of soreness in your pelvic region for just a day or two.
When Will I See Results?
You may notice a difference right after your first appointment. However, most patients require an initial series of sessions to accomplish maximum improvements. Patients can then schedule a follow-up session every nine to twelve months to maintain consistent bladder control.
